River Forest, Ill. - After a four day break, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) Cougars women's tennis team was back on their home courts to welcome the Muskies of Lakeland University. After multiple sets, the Cougars walked away winners with a score of 5-2.
Here's What Happened
Singles
●
Amelia Engelman (McKinney, Texas) battled through two sets of gameplay, losing her first set 3-6, and going down in her second set 4-6.
●
Kathleen Castillo (Elmwood Park, Ill.) tried hard during her singles matches, walking away from her first set a winner with 6-2 win, and continuing to beat out her opponent with a sweep of 6-0.
●
Hannah Upole (Hickey, Ohio) picked up her first win of the season in a dominating 6-2 and 6-1 fashion.
●
Arriyanna Amison (Dolton
, Ill.) also picked up her singles win of the season, even going to a tiebreaker in set two, pulling the 7-6 win.
● Courtneye
Schneider (Plainfield
, Ill.) picked up her second win of the season with a final score of 6-3 in both sets.
Doubles
● Engelman and
Amirah Shakir (Dekalb, Ill.) were a fantastic duo as they beat out their opponents 6-2.
● Upole
and
Sarah Gustafson (Merrill, Wis.) played amazing together as they went back and forth and were able to take over with 6-4.
What's Next
