Five Cougars Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the Academic All-District team for football this afternoon. Five Cougars were honored, including Colton Bosch (Coopersville, Mich.), Troy Pratley (St. Joseph, Mich.), Henry Jones IV (Atlanta, Ga.), Dennis Vanderplow (Livonia, Mich.), and Ryan Auer (Newark, Ohio).
 
Student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA or above to be nominated for CSC Academic All-District. Bosch, Pratley, Jones IV, Vanderplow, and Auer will now be moved forward to the CSC Academic All-America ballot for a chance to receive for first or second team recognition, which will be announced on January 28.
 
In his second year, Bosch stepped in as the go-to quarterback this season. Throughout the season, he threw for 2,173 yards and 20 touchdown passes. Bosch also ran for five touchdowns, including two against Lakeland (Sep. 21) and two against Benedictine (Nov. 16). In the NACC, Bosch ranked fifth with an average of 209.4 yards of total offense per game.
 
Pratley has been a key all-around player for the Cougars in his four years. This season, he registered a pass completion rate of 76.19%, completing 16 of 21 passes. Pratley rushed for 136 yards, the second-most on the team and scored a rushing touchdown against Lakeland (Sep. 21). As a Cougar, Pratley has been a NACC Scholar Athlete every year and will graduate with a degree in Secondary Education.
 
Jones IV completed his second year as a Cougar with two touchdowns, 395 receiving yards, and 56 rushing yards. He ranked 17th in the NACC with an average of 39.50 receiving yards per game. Jones caught two touchdown passes against Lakeland (Sep. 21).
 
As a sophomore, Vanderplow punted for 1772 yards over the 10-game season. He recorded one touchback and two punts that were over 50 yards. His longest punt this season was 60 yards against Wisconsin Lutheran (Oct. 26).
 
In his final season, Auer went 25-for-27 on PAT's and 5-for-8 on field goal attempts. He made his longest of the field goal of the season against Concordia Wisconsin (Nov. 9), which was 26 yards. On kickoffs, Auer kicked for 2340 yards, including two touchbacks. He averaged 49.8 yards per kickoff. As a Cougar, Auer has been a NACC Scholar Athlete every year and will graduate with a degree in Special Education.
