CHICAGO, Ill. - The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's track & field team traveled to Chicago for the Aurora Grand Prix today. Up against stiff competition, the Cougars set multiple personal records and three top-10 finishes.
Notable Performances
- Kirsten Bockhorst (Union, Mo.) led the Cougars with a fifth place in the long jump. She tied her personal best leap of 5.12m (16-9.75).
- Noor Sammour (Berwyn, Ill.) registered a mark of 1.50m (4-11.00) in the high jump to finish ninth.
- Velda Ndang (Plainfield, Ill.) took tenth in the shot put with a mark of 10.49m (34-5.00).
Cougar Personal Records
- In the 400m, Abbigail Placido set a PR of 1:25.09.
- Addi McKee ran a time of 2:51.30 in the 800m for a PR.
- With a time of 6:46.75, Ciara Parsons (Whitmore Lake, Mich.) set a new best time in the mile.
- Ariel Easterwood (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded a personal best leap in the long jump (4.43m (14-6.50)).
- In the weight throw, Madalyn Smock (Poplar Grove, Ill.) threw a personal best 9.71m (31-10.25).
The Cougars' next meet will be Friday January 31. The Cougars head to Bourbonnais, Ill. to compete at the Walter Cramer Invitational, hosted by Olivet Nazarene University.
