How it Happened
First Half
The Eagles put up two baskets before Aaron Brown (Joliet, Ill.) put the Cougars on the board. Edgewood tried to build upon its lead, but a three-pointer from Williams gave the Cougars the go-ahead, 9-8. The teams battled, tying the game at 13-13 before the Cougars were able to take a five-point lead, 21-16, thanks to buckets from Ryker Johnson (Fond du Lac, Wis.), Tallis Lowery (Fairview Heights, Ill.), and Watts. CUC was able to maintain a five-point lead with 3:18 left in the half, however, the Eagles continued to chip away at the Cougars' lead, and Edgewood had the advantage going into halftime, 43-42.

Second Half
In the second half, Collicott made two quick shots, but Edgewood was able to keep a slight lead. Watts and Williams put the Cougars within three and Beckman sank one from beyond the arc to tie the game at 53-53, spurring Concordia to go on a 19-1 run. Kenton Pryor (Hazel Crest, Ill.) made both free throws, followed by a layup from AJ Willard (Germantown, Wis.). Johnson and Williams added to the run that was capped off by a tip in from Collicott. Up 69-54 with 11 minutes left, the Cougars fought to hold off the Eagles, as they found a spark to try and come back, putting up nine unanswered points before Beckman made one for the Cougars. Sharp shooting from Lowery, Beckman, and Collicott from the line helped the Cougars maintain the lead and hold on for the 79-73 victory.
