Cougars Sweep Regents

ROCKFORD, ILL. – The Concordia University Chicago women's volleyball team took the floor tonight for the first time in eight days as they downed the Rockford University Regents in a clean 3-0 sweep. The Cougars last contest came on September 18th where they kicked off Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play against Wisconsin Lutheran College ultimately falling to the Warriors. SET ONE
The Cougars kicked jumped out to an early lead at the hands of Perkins who gave them their first lead of the day off a powerful service ace to ignite CUC's momentum. A little run for the Cougars capitalized by a kill from Christensen and a service ace from Bethany Roethel (Westby, Wis.) would put them up by four. A run from the Regents would level the score, but a monster kill from Rachel Livesay (Medinah, Ill.) would allow the Cougars to regain the lead once again. Exchanging points for the better half of the set, the Cougars would remain one step ahead of the Regents while a long rally closed off by a Christensen kill would put them up by two.

Another string of back and forth points would level the score at 23, but an error from the Regents paired with a kill from Hunt would close the set in victory for the Cougars.

The Cougars would start to claw back point by point before a massive block from McKayla LeVoy (Kankakee, Ill.) would shift momentum.

Back to back aces from Perkins paired with a kill from Hunt would close the set with yet another tally on the Cougars' side.

SET THREE
