Hail Mary Goal Not Enough To Stop Eagles From Soaring

River Forest, Ill.-- The Concordia University Chicago (0-7, 0-3) men's lacrosse team continued Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action on Saturday on their home turf. They welcomed Benedictine University (3-8, 2-1) who ultimately took control from the start resulting in a 26-1 loss for the Cougars.

Box Score Highlights:
-Goalie Peter Borkowski (St. Louis, Mo.) added 19 saves to his name including multiple diving efforts.
-Zachary Lewandowski (West Dundee, Ill.) tipped in a hail mary pass from Dylan Kenney (Boerne, Texas) to secure the only Cougar goal of the game.

How It Happened:

From the opening whistle, it was evident that the Eagles meant business. Their offensive attack was unmatched as they surged past the Cougar defense. However, three minutes into the second quarter, Kenney launched a pass from the opposite side of the field and Lewandoski found the ball with his stick and it slid past the Eagles goalie which put the Cougars on the board.

Despite the efforts put forth by the Cougars, their defense struggled to contain the attacks from the Eagles. Continuous offensive attacks from the Eagles and the scoreboard ticked steadily in their favor leaving little room for a response from the Cougars.

They will be looking to bounce back on Wednesday, April 10th at 5 pm as they are set to take on the Spartans at Aurora University. Coverage for all things CUC men's lacrosse can be found at cucougars.com as well as on Instagram and X @cuchicagolax
