RIVER FOREST, ILL. – On a chilly and windy day in River Forest, the Concordia University Chicago Baseball team hosted the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors for a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) doubleheader, sweeping the Warriors.

Before the contest, the Cougars honored their seven seniors.
Sergio Vazquez Jr. (Concord, Calif.),
Nick Rensberger (Milford, Ind.),
Julio Cajigas (Romeoville, Ill.),
Caleb Anderson (Plainfield, Ill.),
Aidan Teahan (Park Ridge, Ill.),
Bryce Jones (Ottawa, Ill.) and
Wyatt McLaughlin (Cave Creek, Ariz.) were thanked for their hardwork and dedication to the program over the years.

GAME ONE:  6-2 W
INSIDE THE BOX
	- Cajigas led at the plate going two for three with one run.

	- Jake Mahler (Vernon Hills, Ill.) picked up two RBIs in one hit.

	- The wealth was shared as Elijah Hickman (Rennselaer, Ind.), Michael Kasik (Chandler, Ariz.), Brandon Mahler (Vernon Hills, Ill.), Alejandro Muñoz (Evergreen Park, Ill.), and Yashion Boswell (Lynwood, Ill.) each recorded one hit.

	- David Deimling (Bloomingdale, Ill.) pitched a complete game for the Cougars going seven innings while only allowing three hits, two runs, four walks, and picking up a career high eight strikeouts in his 25 batters faced.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Warriors wasted no time as they picked up their first hit of the day with a leadoff single, but the runner would soon be picked off a first by Deimling. After a walk for Tyler Dorsch (Phoenix, Ariz.) would start things off, two consecutive stolen bases would place him on third but leave him stranded and the game still scoreless after the first inning.

	- The game would continue to be stalemate until the Cougars would break it open in the bottom of the sixth with a leadoff single from Hickman paired with a double from Cajigas would put two runners in scoring position. Kasik would intentionally be walked and load the bases up. B. Mahler would send a ball to centerfield and score one while leaving Cajigas 90 feet from the plate. A sacrifice fly from Tyler Krater (Phoenix, Ariz.) would score one and leave room for J. Mahler to pick up a double and clear the bases. With two more hits from Muñoz and Boswell, the Cougars would bring their inning total to six runs and take the 6-0 lead.

	- The Warriors would answer back in the top of the seventh putting up two runs, but not enough to keep the game alive as the Cougars would take game one with the 6-2 victory.

GAME TWO: 8-6 W
INSIDE THE BOX
	- Krater would lead in game two at the plate going three for four at the plate with two RBIs.

	- Anderson would also pick up two RBIs in his lone hit of the game.

	- Hickman, Dorsch, and Krater would all pick up stolen bases.

	- Five Cougars would dish on the mound as Brady McCleery (Patterson, Calif.) would pick up his second win of the season while Jones picked up his first save of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Cougars would waste no time in game two taking a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A leadoff single from Hickman paired with a walk for Dorsch would put two runners on base. The duo would each steal a bag and put runners on second and third. With a single from Kasik dropping in centerfield, Hickman would be able to score and put Dorsch 90 feet from the plate.

	- On a hard hit ball to shortsop Dorsch would be able to find his way to safely cross the plate before a double from Krater would score another.

	- An immediate single from Anderson right after Krater would be deep enough to score two as Muñoz would single to left field and put two runners on base. Coming back up to the top of the order, Hickman would single to left field and send Anderson home for the sixth run of the inning.

	- In the bottom of the seventh, the Cougars would tack on one more run after a double from B. Mahler would put the speedster in scoring position for a Krater single to drive him home.

	- The Warriors would pin three runs up in the top of the third and three more in the top of the fourth to make it a one run game. The Cougars would struggle to get the bats hot again but a leadoff triple for Krater and an error would get him around all four bags in one at bat to put the Cougars up 8-6.

	- Able to ward off the Warriors for the remainder of the game, the Cougars secured the sweep after 17 innings of play on the day.
