BOURBONNAIS, ILL. --- Heading heavily into the outdoor season, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) track and field team competed in the ONU Tiger Open. Multiple Cougars had top 10 finishes, along with new personal records.
Notable Cougar Performances
- Ariel Martinez (Berwyn, Ill.) earned the highest finish on the day at first place with a 12:50.37 in the 3k steeplechase, which is also a new PR
- Izzy Fairless (Royal Oak, Mich.) picked up a second place finish in the 800m with a 2:28.37 PR
- Eve Shelton (St. Louis, Mo.) finished second place in the 400m hurdle finals with a PR of 1:07.53
- Gabrielle Harding (Rochelle, IL) had a third place finish in the hammer throw
- Noor Sammour (Berwyn, Ill.) had two finishing marks, with third place in high jump and seventh in triple jump with a PR of 10.03m
- Picking up third in the 100m hurdle finals, Jerzey Allen (Bevier, Mo.) made a time of 15.88 seconds for a new PR
- The 4x400 finished in third place, which had Shelton, Oas, Fairless, and Madison Hipshire (Riverview, Mich.) with a time of 4:19.95
- Oas had two more high finishes: Fourth in javelin with a 31.77m PR and eighth in the 1500m with a 5:18.34 PR
- Aniyah Isom (Chicago, Ill.) finished in sixth place in the long jump
New Cougar Personal Records
- Four Cougars picked up new PRs in the 200m: Allen with a 27.99, Jamie Seibert (Arlington Heights, Ill.) with a 30.17. Keren Llort (Cicero, Ill.) with a 29.31, and Martinez with a 31.15.
- Breanna Walters (Poplar Grove, Ill.) had her debut in two events, the 400m with a time of 1:13.57 and the 1500m with a time of 5:37.82
- Lydia Anderson (Carpentersville, Ill.) had two PRs as well, a 2:47.45 time in the 800m and a 5:44.75 time in the 1500m
