RIPON, WIS. – Six Cougars competed at the Ripon Final Qualifier on March 2
nd in attempts to sneak their way into the 2024 NCAA Indoor National Championships.
Cougar Competitors
- Aniyah Isom (Chicago, Ill.) finished third in the 200-meters with a time of 27.70.
- Eve Shelton (St. Louis, Mo.) placed first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.08 to set a new school record, breaking the previous record.
- Noor Sammour (Berwyn, Ill.) placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters.
- Henry Jones IV (Atlanta, Ga.) placed fifth in the 60-meters with a time of 7.11.
- Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, Texas) placed third in the 200-meters with a time of 23.15 and first in the 400-meters with a new personal record time of 50.49, while also setting a new school record.
- Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio) placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 12.45 meters.
With the top 20 athletes qualifying for the NCAA Indoor National Championships, the Cougars fell short with Shelton ranking 49
th in the 60-meter hurdles.
This concludes the 2023-2024 indoor season for the Cougars as they look to kick off the outdoor season on March 28
