KENOSHA, WIS. — The first meets of the 2024 year have finally come for the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's track and field team. Traveling to Carthage College for the Firebird First, the women's side finished seventh out of eight teams on the day.

The distance medley relay team of Breanna Walters (Poplar Grove, Ill.), Tegan Oas (Shingle Springs, Calif.), Izzy Fairless (Royal Oak, Mich.), and Ariel Martinez (Berwyn, Ill.) finished third in their race today with a time of 14:32.95

Eve Shelton (St. Louis, Mo.) had an impressive day in her respective events. Finishing fifth in both the 200-meter and 55-meter hurdles

Jamie Seibert (Arlington Heights, Ill.) had a ninth place finish in the high jump with a 1.35 meter jump

Also finishing ninth was Saryah Dixon (Mount Vernon, Ill.) in the 55-meter dash at 7.64 seconds

Aniyah Isom (Chicago, Ill.) finished in 10th place in the 200-meter

Also finishing fifth place was Lydia Anderson (Carpentersville, Ill.) in the 3000-meter

Shelton had a new personal record (PR) in the 55-meter hurdle preliminaries with a 9.01 second run. Also picking up a PR in this event was Jerzey Allen (Bevier, Mo.) with a time of 9.55 seconds

In the 800-meter, Oas had a new PR with a time of 2:39.91, Martinez with a time of 2:44.89, and Walters with a time of 2:52.79

Keren Llort (Cicero, Ill.) picked up a PR in the 200-meter with a time of 31.73 seconds

Ariel Easterwood (St. Louis, Mo.) had new PRs on the day; One in the 200-meter with a time of 31.82 seconds and the other in the long jump with a distance of 4.27 meters

In the field events, Elizabeth Clouse (Jackson, Mich.) picked up a PR in the weight throw with a distance of 11.25 meters
