DE PERE, WIS. --- The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's volleyball team attempts to carry their steam over into conference play but ultimately fall short to the St. Norbert College Green Knights 3-0.

Set One
The Cougars start the game off hot, allowing for two to earn kills early. Lili Hunt (Greenfield, Ind.) and Rachel Livesay (Medinah, Ill.) bringing the score 3-2. The Green Knights did not back down finding holes on the Cougars defense. However, Heywood would respond with a kill of her own, putting her name on the board 10-7.
The Green Knights continued their onslaught accumulating a four-point rally. McKayla LeVoy (Kankakee, Ill.) stopped the Green Knights in their tracks, getting her first kill of the match 14-9. Livesay and Levoy follow up the play with a wall of their own, blocking the Green Knights 14-10.
The Green Knights would continue their momentum; Heywood attempted to fight back by adding another two kills to her total 21-15. The Cougars tried to find holes to take advantage of, but the Green Knights would lock up their defense and take set one 25-16.
Set Two
The Green Knights hoped to get the lead early, however the Cougar's Akasia Brown (Addison, Ill.)Â would swing hot 4-2. The Green Knights would respond quickly finding pockets on the Cougars defense 8-4. Brown would respond to the Green Knights with a solo block 8-5. The teams would trade points finding pockets on the court; Hunt and Heywood were the Cougars to find these pockets 10-7.Â
The Cougar's would attempt a shift of momentum, but would fall short; the Green Knight's would continue their onslaught 15-8. Kate Foley (Milwaukee, Wis.) stopped the Green Knight rally earning her first kill bringing the score to 15-9. The Duo of Hunt and Heywood would follow with kills of their own in the plays to follow 20-13. But, the Cougars would ultimately lose the set 25-14.
Set Three
The Cougars would hope to get an early lead, but the Green Knights continued their momentum into the third set 5-0. Vernengo would add her name to the kill board bringing the match 5-1.
The Green Knights would pose a threat gaining an seven point lead from a three-point rally 8-1. The ball rolled into the Cougars court when Bethany Roethel (Westby, Wis.) ace'd the Green Knights 8-3. Heywood would continue the momentum gaining another kill 9-4.Â
The Green Knights would continue their lead against the Cougars 15-4. Foley would attempt to raise the spirits of the Cougars adding another kill to the board 14-6. The tides would continue to the Green Knights, but Brown would slam the ball down for the cougars 17-7. Ultimately the Cougars would fall short 25-8.
