ANDERSON, IND– In a heart-pounding battle on the pitch, the Concordia University Chicago Men's Soccer (0-2-0, 0-0-0) team faced off against Anderson University (2-0-0, 0-0-0) in a match that will surely be remembered as an exhilarating battle. Although they ultimately fell short with a 5-3 loss, the intensity of the game left fans and players on the edge of their seats.
First Half Action:
The game kicked off with both teams displaying an amazing commitment to victory. The Raven's came out strong, maintaining control of the game. Their efforts paid off as they scored in the ninth minute. However, senior midfielder
Michael Frank (Fort Wayne, Ind.) converted a penalty kick in the twentieth minute to even out the game.
The Raven's quickly fought back and scored two more goals in the 32nd minute and the 39th minute which were both assisted goals. The Cougars found themselves down 3-1 as the half came to a close.
Second Half Battle:
The second half of the match was nothing short of grit. Frank converted yet another penalty kick to get the Cougars momentum back. Not even a minute after Frank scored his second goal of the game, the forward,
Garrett Poynter (Noblesville, Ind.) chipped in a goal of his own in the 71st minute. Although efforts from Poynter and Frank were enough to get the spirits high, Anderson came back and added two more goals to push past Concordia.

Joseph Perez (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and
Kyle Schultz (Pingree Grove, Ill.) added four and two saves respectively.
