RIVER FOREST, ILL. -- The Concordia University Chicago Cougars (CUC) hosted the Marian Sabres for the opening game of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday, April 1st, ultimately falling 26-4.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Four seperate Cougars secured goals on the day while two secured assists.
- Peter Borkowski (St. Louis, Mo.)Â picked up 15 saves on the day.
The Cougars struck first as CUC picked up the first faceoff of the game and capitalized as a pass inside from Headley to Dooley secured the first goal of the game.
Keeping things tight in the first quarter, the Cougars were able to pick up a second goal from seniorAidan Vizi (Bethel, Ct.) off a pass from Justin Headley (Baltimore, Md.). The next Cougar goal would come from the duo back at it again, with the goal from Headley and the assist from Vizi.
The Cougars would face a bit of a drought as they wouldn't pick up their next and final goal until late in the third quarter where senior Jarred tabor would find the back of the net.
Despite intense efforts, the Cougars would fall to the Sabres 26-4. The Cougars will be back in action with more conference play as they take on Beloit College on Wednesday, April 5th at 7:00 pm. Coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.Â
