Not Enough Power For Cougars To Triumph Over Ravens

ANDERSON, IND. — The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's lacrosse team traveled out of state to start off their Spring Break activities. Facing off against Anderson University from Indiana, the Cougars were defeated by the Ravens with a score of 19-2.

Inside the Box Score:

  • Josef Fors (Farmington, Minn.) picked up his first career goal of the year on this away trip. Also scoring a goal for the Cougars was Jarred Tabor (Crystal Lake, Ill.)

  • Zach Cicero (Chicago, Ill.) picked up his second assist of the season while aiding Tabor

  • Leading the team in both ground balls and shots, Tabor picked up seven in both categories

  • In the faceoff position, Fors also won 13 out of 24 battles

The game started off heavily on the Ravens side as they quickly went up 3-0. Both Tabor and Cicero were able to get some shots off, but nothing could find the back of the net. The Ravens were leading over the Cougars 4-0 ending the first quarter.

Starting the second quarter, the Ravens would go on a five-point rally before the Cougars could respond. That would then lead to Fors getting an opportunity for a solo goal to cross the Ravens net. Tabor then would get a couple of opportunities to score, but nothing would make it in before the half. At this point, CUC was trailing 9-1 going into the half.

The third quarter was dominated by the Ravens as they added six more points to their lead, going up 15-1. Tabor and Fors would both try to get some shots off on Anderson, but ultimately could not find a way in. Crossing into the fourth quarter, Tabor was able to score one more goal for the Cougars for the first of his career. However, this was too late for CUC as they fell to Anderson 19-2.

The Cougars will be taking the rest of spring break off of games before going back on the road Sunday, March 12th. They will be traveling to Trine University for a 1 p.m. (EST) start time. Coverage for all of our sports can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
