ASHLAND, WIS. — On a long distance road trip, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's lacrosse team traveled to Northland College to take on the Lumberjacks. Even though the Cougars brought out a great offensive showing, they were defeated by the Lumberjacks 8-5.

Starting off the first period, Northland quickly went up 3-0 as they showed dominance on their home turf. However, the Cougars immediately began to respond. Ploch grabbed his first goal of the day straight off of the faceoff won by Josef Fors (Farmington, Minn.). Jarred Tabor (Crystal Lake, Ill.) was able to secure a goal for himself less than two minutes after to make it 3-2.
The Cougars did not stop there and continued their rally. Vizi shot a ball from well outside the zone to score his first of the season and tie the game at 3-3. The second quarter of the game was taken over by the Lumberjacks as they scored four more goals and made it 7-3.
Leaving the half, both teams were ready to battle it out. Northland struck first as they scored another goal to bring their lead to 8-3. Cicero then pulled through to add another goal to the Cougars total and bring it to 8-4. The action continued, but without any goals from either team until the fourth period. That is when Ploch picked up his second of the day, thanks to a Cicero assist, and brought themselves to 8-5.
This is where the score would remain as Northland defeated CUC with a score of 8-5.
The Cougars will be taking on their final non-conference game on Wednesday as they travel to Carroll University for a 7 p.m. matchup. Coverage for all of our sports can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
