MADISON, WI. – Looking to build off a substantial win last week, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's tennis team made the trip north for a conference matchup with Edgewood College. A rough outing ultimately ended in a 9-0 loss for the Cougars.
Doubles
Kamila Giza (East Dundee, Ill.) and
Amelia Engelman (McKinney, Texas) were the first Cougar pairing to compete on the court in the doubles sets. After a hard-fought showing, the duo was able to earn a point in their match.
Unfortunately, no other duos were able to earn points in the remaining doubles sets.
Singles
Similar to her doubles match, Engelman also won a point in her singles sets. Not too long after,
Tatiana Overton (Bolingbrook, Ill.) received a total of four points in her match.
Jessica Parker (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) had an impressive performance winning four points in her singles sets as well.
The Cougars scoring ended after
Mackenzie Straulin (Johnsburg, Ill.) earned a point in her singles match.
What's to Come
The Cougars will look to bounce back on Friday as they host Illinois College at 3:00 p.m. This match will also serve as the annual Hilinski's Hope Mental Awareness Match, so be sure to come out and support decked out in green.
