RIVER FOREST, ILL. - The Concordia University Chicago Cougars closed their home games on Saturday with a loss to the St. Norbert Green Knights.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Jakob Redmond (Bishop, Calif) and Colton Bosch (Coopersville, Mich.) split time for the Cougars as Bosch threw the lone touchdown of the day.
- Gabe Dace (Sullivan, Mo.) snagged the lone touchdown for the Cougars off a six-yard pass into the end zone to start the fourth quarter.
- Wesley Jackson (Robinson, Ill.) and Demari Grant (Chicago, Ill.) led the defense with seven total tackles each.
The Green Knights started the game off with a spark after jumping ahead to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter. After some adventurous attempts from the Cougars, including a 4th and three at the three-yard line they trailed by 28 at the half.
With a new arm at quarterback for the Cougars, they relied heavily on the passing game. After marching down the field to close the third, a 3rd and six from the six-yard line would prove the perfect opportunity for the Cougars to find the endzone. A short right dump from Bosch to Dace would give the Cougars their only score of the day.
Unable to score for the reminder of the game, the Cougars fell 56-7. They hit the road for the remainder of the season as they head to Wisconsin Lutheran College next week at 1:00pm. Coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
