RIVER FOREST, ILL. – The Concordia University Chicago women's tennis team closed out their fall season by celebrating their four seniors on Senior Day with a 6-3 loss against Lakeland University.
 
DOUBLES
The Cougars faced some hard battles as Tatiana Overton (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Ali Wingood (Chicago, Ill.) picked up the only victory in the doubles competition after the intense back-and-forth battle left them on top 8-6. The senior-freshman duo

Also battling the hard fight in doubles was the duo of Amelia Engelman (McKinney, Texas) and Kamila Giza (East Dundee, Ill.) fell with a close 8-2 final.

SINGLES
The Cougars faced a tough slate in the singles as every athlete picked up solid scores. Engelman picked up the first point for the Cougars during singles as she pulled her victory following 6-2 and 7-5 set wins.

Finishing up right after Engelman, Jessica Parker (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) fell after a three set battle. The senior fell in the first set 6-2 before pulling the 6-3 win in set two. Needing to keep her momentum, Parker put in her all but fell 6-4 in the third set to face the overall loss.

Picking up the last point for the Cougars, Overton dominated as she pulled the 6-3 and 6-2 wins to bring the Cougars to an overall 6-3 loss.

Following the match, the Cougars recognized their four seniors, Wingood, Parker, Mackenzie Straulin (Johnsburg, Ill.), and Asha Edgerle (Kohler, Wis.) in their senior day festivities. Concordia Women's Tennis thanks the seniors for the hardwork and dedication to Cougar Tennis.
