Fond du Lac, Wis. — Hitting the road to open Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play, the Concordia University Chicago men's lacrosse team took on the Marian University Sabres on Saturday afternoon. The Sabres scored first and the Cougars were unable to put a rally together from there, falling by a final score of 21-2.
Marian scored in the opening minute and a half of the contest and never looked back. The Sabres outscored CUC 17-0 in the first half. The Cougars got on the board in the third. With 7:21 remaining in the third quarter Justin Headley took a pass from Jarred Tabor and finished off the first goal of the game for CUC. Just a few minutes later Andrew Lechuga found the back of the net for his third goal of the season.
The Cougars will return to action on Tuesday afternoon when Beloit College comes to River Forest for a NACC matchup. Opening faceoff is set for 2:00 pm from Concordia Stadium.
