River Forest, Ill. – Hitting the road after having back-to-back home games, the Concordia University Chicago men's lacrosse team fell to the reigning NACC champions, Benedictine University, 28-1.
Inside the Box
With Benedictine winning the opening faceoff, aggressive defense from
Frank Dougherty (East Peoria, Ill.) gave the Cougars their first offensive opportunity. Unable to convert initially, the Cougar defense stepped up and kept the game scoreless for the first ten minutes of the game. After allowing a goal late in the quarter, the Cougars lost their valued momentum and allowed an addition three goals in the remaining three minutes of the quarter.
Following the first quarter, the Eagles were all gas and no brakes. Falling behind on a 22-0 run, the Cougars were finally able to put a goal on the board. Trying to create space for himself, Tabor cut across the 25 yard line to get past his defender and sail one into the net, giving the Cougars their lone goal of the game.
