Albion broke through though in the top of the second. A leadoff error put a runner on. After a stolen base and two strikeouts, a single through the right side brought home the game's opening run. Another single brought in a second run to make it 2-0 Albion.
Concordia answered in the bottom of the second. With two outs
Tyler Krater drew a walk.
Jaime Sandoval then singled to center, and both advanced to scoring position on a wild pitch. Sandoval and Krater came in to score when Hatton ripped a single that just got through the left side, tying the game at 2-2.
The Britons added on two more unearned runs in the third. They were aided by two CUC errors while getting two hits to take a 4-2 lead. Albion added on single runs in the fourth and the seventh innings to extend the lead to 6-2.
The CUC comeback started in the seventh.
Christian Jacob started the inning with a single up the middle. Two outs later Jacob stole second and third to move into scoring position. He then was brought in when Hatton tripled off the left-field wall. A walk followed putting two on for Gary Maynard, who singled to right-center to pull CUC within 6-4. The inning continued with a
Brody Mariotti double to left scoring Eli Hickman. After a walk loaded the bases,
Carter Gledhill drew a walk to tie the game at six.
Sartori shut Albion down in the eighth and ninth innings, allowing just one hit. The table was then set for Dorsch with one out in the ninth. After taking the first two pitches for strikes, Dorsch put a big swing and launched a ball down the left-field line for the walk-off homer. The homer comes in the first collegiate at-bat for Dorch, as he sent the Cougar faithful into a frenzy with the 7-6 win.
