RIPON, Wis. – Looking to continue to get into top form with the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference meet just two weeks away, the Concordia University Chicago men's track and field team headed across the border on Saturday for the Dick Hendricks' Invite hosted by Ripon College.
Daisia Wilson (Belleville, Ill.) had the top finish of the day for CUC with a second-place finish and a personal best in the 60m. She also had a personal best time of 28.31 in her fifth-place finish in the 200.
Brooklyn Gromko also had a big performance on Saturday. The first year finished sixth in the 200m, recorded a personal best in the 400m, and finished sixth in the long jump.
Karissa Walters (Zeeland, Mich.) recorded an eighth-place finish in the 400 with a run of 1:07.96. Walters also put together a fourth place finish in the pole vault.
Diana Almazan (Berwyn, IL),
Tegan Oas (Shingle Springs, Calif.),
Callie Hoover (Fort Wayne, Ind.), and
Ali Wingood (Chicago, Ill.) all finished top ten in the 800. Hoover also put together a tenth-place finish in the mile. The 4x400m team of Almazan, Wingood,
Eve Shelton (St. Louis, Mo.), and Wilson finished third with a time of 4:27.08.
Shelton finished third overall in the 60 hurdles with a personal best time of 9.64.
Samantha Bryant (Yorkville, Ill.) also had a strong performance Saturday, recording a personal best in the 60 hurdles, finishing eighth with a personal best in the long jump, and a personal best in the shot put.
Gabrielle Harding (Rochelle, IL) and
Claire Urchell (Crown Point, Ind.) placed fifth and sixth overall in the shot put. Harding and Urchell also put together sixth and ninth place throws in the weight throw.
