RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- Closing out the 2022 home portion of the schedule, the Concordia University Chicago women's tennis team took on the Alverno College Inferno on Saturday morning on the CUC Tennis courts. The Cougars put together one of their best performances of the year, defeating the Inferno by a final score of 8-1. In addition to this major win for the Cougars, they honored their five seniors.
The Cougars dominated doubles play to begin the match.
Heidi Hesse and
Kamila Giza won their match at first doubles 8-0.
Jessica Parker and
Ali Wingood were close behind, finishing off their opponents 8-2.
Madison Perkins and
Mackenzie Straulin then made it a clean sweep of doubles play with an 8-4 win at third doubles.
Hesse continued her strong play at number one singles. The senior won her match quickly 6-0, 6-0.
Ali Wingood then finished off her opponent at second singles 6-2, 6-1. The rest of the Cougars slowly trickled in as all but one would grab wins on the day.
The Cougars are back in action quickly as they head up to Lakeland tomorrow morning for an early 10:00 am match to close out their season. Updates can be found at cucougars.com.
