Wisconsin Lutheran did not back down, and were able to pull back within one, 9-8. Each team took turns going on scoring streaks until the score stood 16-13 in favor of Concordia.
CUC then took eight of the next 10 points to force set point, 24-15. A kill by Warrior Kayla Wigley prolonged the set a little longer, but a final kill from McKayla Levoy clinched set one for the Cougars, 25-16.
Looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match, Concordia was able to jump out 6-4 to start set two. However, an eight-point run from the Warriors quickly put them up 12-6 over CUC. The Cougars were able to get three points back, but another big run from WLC boosted their lead to nine, 18-9.
Concordia was able to claw their way within striking distance, using an 8-1 run to cut the deficit down to three, 22-19. Wisconsin Lutheran then shut the door on any potential comeback, scoring three of the last four points to take set two 25-20.
