Box Score De Pere, Wis. -- The Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team (1-6-1, 1-2-1) made their first ever trip to St. Norbert College (4-3-1, 3-0-1) on Saturday. A late goal by the Cougars evened the game at two, and the team eventually played to their second draw of the week.
It was 2-1 Green Knights for more than 60 minutes of game time. The match appeared to be all but over when the 89th minute was reached, but CUC had other ideas.
Sophomore Julianna Paulsen (Villa Park, Ill.) picked the perfect spot for her first collegiate goal, finding the back of the net off a free kick scramble to even things up. It was the end product of aggressive play displayed by the team down the stretch. Junior Megan Shelton (New Lenox, Ill.) had missed a shot wide less than a minute prior.
For the second time in as many games, the Cougars played 20 minutes of free soccer without either team scoring a goal. They've now tied consecutive matches for the first time since the 2013 season.
