The Concordia University Chicago men's soccer team (0-6-1) hit the road as they took on a non-conference opponent in Lake Forest College (2-0). After 90 minutes of play, the Cougars were unable to find the back of the net, losing the match 4-0.
 
It was a strong start to the game for CUC's defense. They fought off the Foresters for 20 minutes before they scored their first goal. However, once they got their first, Lake Forest could not be stopped. The Foresters finished the first half with two goals and followed up with the same amount in the second to result in the 4-0 final.
 
Sophomore Joseph Perez (Crystal Lake, Ill.) led the defensive efforts for the Cougars in tonight's contest. Although he allowed four goals, he made eight saves overall. The Cougars struggled to find a spark on offense, but not for a lack of trying by senior Gianni Gaskins (Studio City, Calif.). The forward registered CUC's sole shot of the game as they fought against the Foresters.
 
The Cougars will have tomorrow off before they are back on the field in River Forest for another non-conference competition. They will take on Wisconsin Lutheran College starting at 1 p.m. A live stream for the game can be found at youtube.com/cucsports.
