After a hard fought 90 minutes, the Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team (1-4) dropped to University of Dubuque (2-0) on Wednesday night with a final score of 6-0.
The goals started early for the Spartans as they found the back of the net in the eighth minute. The Spartans kept up the pressure by scoring four more goals before reaching halftime. Janette Moreno (Cicero, Ill.) had the Cougars only recorded shot in the first half.
The Cougars brought the defensive intensity in the second half by only allowing one goal in the last seven minutes of play, led by sophomore goalkeeper Kassie Silenzi (Carpentersville, Ill.) who had four saves on the night. Unfortunately, the Cougars weren't able to bounce back from the first half deficit.
The Cougars look to add to their win total this upcoming Sunday, against our Division Street rivals at Dominican at 1 p.m.
