Mequon, Wisc. -- The Concordia University Chicago men's soccer team traveled to Mequon, Wisconsin to face Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference matchup.
In the first 45 minutes of play, Nicholas Pasut (New Boston, Mich.) started out in goal, tallying a total of seven saves. Michael Byron (Park Ridge, Ill.) and Giovanni Velasquez (Cicero, Ill.) each recorded one shot on goal. The first half ended with the Cougars trailing 1-0.
The next half started out with Joseph Perez (Crystal Lake, Ill.) as goalkeeper for Concordia. Perez recorded three saves out of the five shots on goal taken by CUW, their first goal of the half coming after seven minutes. Grayden McClellan (Itasca, Ill.) quickly put hope back into the Cougars by scoring the lone goal of the game. Besides McClellan's two shots on goal, Ryan Kuhlman (Darien, Ill.), Byron, Michael Frank (Fort Wayne, Ind.), and Oscar Montejano (Zion, Ill.) also had shots on goal during the second half.
Ultimately, the Cougars fell 3-1 to the Falcons, breaking their six game win streak. They will be back in action as they take on the Dominican Stars Wednesday October 27th at 3 pm for their last regular season game.
