River Forest, Ill. -- It was homecoming weekend at Concordia University Chicago as the football team welcomed the Lakeland University Muskies to Concordia Stadium for an afternoon battle. It was a rough go of things for the Cougars, as they fell 63-7.
Lakeland kicked the scoring off on their first drive of the game, capping off a 54-yard drive with an eight-yard touchdown rush. The Cougars would keep them out of the end zone for the remainder of the first quarter, but ultimately surrendered 35 points in the second.
CUC was unable to overcome three Muskies' defensive scores on the afternoon. Their lone score came courtesy of Senior running back DeAndre Daniels (Chula Vista, Calif.), who provided a spark with a 60-yard touchdown run in the third.
