Cougars Fall In Senior Day Matchup With Dominican

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Looking to build off a win earlier in the week, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Basketball team welcomed the Division Street rival Dominican University Stars to Geiseman Gymnasium. Prior to the contest CUC honored seniors Annika Rae, Crystal Corr, Michaela Thornton, Kaylah Koehler, Julie Jenkins and Bethany Hoehne. CUC fought tough, but the Stars size caused problems all night, as CUC fell by a final of 63-52.
 
Turning Point
  • Rae hit a three with 8:02 remaining in the fourth to pull CUC back within 49-47. The Cougars then did not score for just over five minutes. Dominican was able to extend their lead, and CUC was unable to formulate a comeback.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Rae led CUC with 13 points. She knocked down three threes.
  • Corr matched a season high with 10 points. She also pulled down six rebounds.
  • Hannah Currant had a career high 29 points on 12-18 shooting for Dominican.
  • Dominican out-rebounded CUC 60-38.
