Cougars Edge Seahawks in Gritty Affair

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. -- Kicking off the new decade for Concordia-Chicago athletics, the women's basketball team traveled to the east coast to take on St. Mary's College of Maryland this afternoon. After early offensive miscues, CUC struggled to find its ground before picking up its scoring production to pull off the 69-49 victory.

Turning Point:
  • Down by as many as 17 points, the Cougars started to gain momentum towards the end of the first half and clawed their way back to a six-point deficit. Opening up the final frame of play, CUC kept its momentum going and went on a four-minute, 12-0 run to take back the lead, at 34-33, beginning with a three-point basket from Tara Hastings
