Cougars Drop Road Test To CUW

MEQUON, Wis. – Looking to pick up a road win, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Basketball road hit the road tonight for the first of two matchups with the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons in the next ten days. CUC hung around in the first half, but a big second half for the Falcons would down CUC by a final score of 81-47.
 
TURNING POINT
  • CUC pulled within 23-20 on a Tara Hastings three with 3:30 remaining in the second quarter. CUW then followed with a 9-2 run to open up a nine point lead at the half.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Hastings had a team high 15 points on 6-8 shooting.
  • Michaela Thornton finished with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists.
  • CUC shot 28.8 percent from the field and knocked down five threes.
  • CUW shot 47.7 percent from the field and knocked down five threes.
  • CUW out-rebounded CUC 56-26.

  • Hastings got CUC on the board early, but the Falcons were able to open the game on a 8-2 run over the first 5:38.

  • The Cougars (2-10; 1-7 NACC) will return home for the second of three games this week on Thursday night. CUC will welcome the Lakeland University Muskies to Geiseman Gymnasium for a 7:00pm tip.
