RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Eager to finally kick off their 2019 campaign, the Concordia-Chicago men's soccer team will play host to Moody Bible Institute tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
Game programs with team rosters and game notes can be found here.
Cougar Tape... The Cougars head into the 2019 season looking to improve upon a 3-12 record from just a season ago. Returning 58 percent of their total goal scoring from
Ryan Kuhlman alone, CUC will lean on the now sophomore forward to lead the team's offense and young squad. Junior
Gerardo Medina also returns for the Cougars, as he tabbed three goals and two assists last year, finishing second on the team in total points with eight.
Jose Retana returns in net for Concordia-Chicago, as he boasted a .722 save percentage last season and had two of CUC's three wins from inside the posts.
Against the Archers... The all-time series between CUC and Moody Bible dates back to 2001, with the all-time record even-keeled at 3-3. Concordia-Chicago stole the last match between the two teams, with the Cougars taking a 4-1 victory on Sept. 6, 2018.
Gerardo Medina and
Ryan Kuhlman each scored two goals in the victory. With a 1-1 record already this season, the Archers have taken a game from Emmaus before falling to Viterbo this past weekend.
In With The New... CUC's roster holds a host of new faces, as 20 new Cougars join the 2019 squad. With one junior, two sophomores and 17 freshmen added to the team, Concordia-Chicago will have a very young roster despite having a veteran backline.
Bryce Bilodeau and
Patrick Hopkins return this season as CUC's top defenders, having played in 15 and 13 games, respectively, in 2018.
Kick off is slated for a 4 p.m. start time with live stats and video coverage available at
