Cougar Tape... The Cougars head into the 2019 season looking to improve upon a 3-12 record from just a season ago. Already at 1-1, CUC returns 58 percent of their 2018 total goal scoring in sophomore
Ryan Kuhlman. Junior
Gerardo Medina also returns for the Cougars, as he tabbed three goals and two assists last year, finishing second on the team in total points with eight. The veteran Cougar already has three points on the season including the second goal in CUC's 4-0 win over Moody Bible.
Scouting the Blue Jays... Dating back to 2004, the Cougars are 0-5 when taking on Elmhurst College. The two teams last battled in 2013, when the Blue Jays took home a 2-0 victory in River Forest. Currently, Elmhurst is 2-2-1 on the season, including an impressive 1-1 draw against CUC's own hometown rival Dominican University. Five different Blue Jays have produced points so far, with sophomore Noah Backhaus leading the way with two goals and an assist.
Welcome to the Show... CUC's roster holds a host of new faces, as 20 new Cougars join the 2019 squad. With one junior, two sophomores and 17 freshmen added to the team, Concordia-Chicago will have a very young roster despite having a veteran back line. Already on the year, three of CUC's four offensive producers have come from newbies
John Walsh,
Dominick Christiansen and
Michael Bogart. In his collegiate debut, Walsh had an impressive one goal, two assists outing.
