MEQUON, Wis. -- Looking to advance to the 2019 NACC Tournament championship, the No. 1 Concordia Chicago baseball team took on the second seeded Aurora Spartans tonight at Kapco Park. CUC struck first and out hit the Spartans, but Aurora was able to plate six runs including three unearned to down CUC 6-2.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Alex Crinigan took the hard luck loss for CUC. He threw six innings, allowing two hits and two unearned runs to go along with seven strikeouts.
- Keegan Tyrell led the team with three hits on the night.
- It was just the second time this season that CUC out hit a team and lost.

Crinigan sat down the first six Spartans in order, including striking out the side in the second. CUC got the offense going in the bottom half.
Brody Mariotti led things off by ripping a 1-0 pitch down the left field line. One out later Tyrell singled to left to put runners at the corners. An RBI groundout by
Mateo Calle gave CUC the 1-0 lead.

Crinigan continued to cruise, sitting down Aurora in order in the third. The Spartans got their first hit of the game to leadoff the top of the fourth, but the right hander got a double play ball to end the inning.

Aurora took the lead in the sixth due to two lapses in the CUC defense. A leadoff error allowed a runner to reach. One out later a second throwing error in the inning put runners at the corners. A sac fly and the second hit of the game off of Crinigan then gave Aurora a 2-1 lead.

The Spartans then added on insurance in the seventh. A hit batter and a single started the inning. A single through the right side with the infield in then made it 3-1. A third CUC error and a single through the left side allowed Aurora to extend their lead to 6-1.

CUC got just a single run back in the bottom of the seventh. Singles by Tyrell and Calle put runners at the corners.
Justin Rodriguez made it 6-2 with a single through the left side. The Cougars were unable to get any more in the inning, going down on strikes three times.

The Cougars will now face the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons for the second time in the tournament tomorrow. First pitch is set for 10:00pm.They will need to defeat the Falcons for the chance to face Aurora at 1:00pm and will need to win that game to force a winner take all game on Sunday morning.
