#1 Cougars To Host Lakeland Tomorrow

River Forest, Ill. -- With mother nature causing many schedule changes, the #1 ranked Concordia University Chicago Baseball team has rescheduled the double header with Lakeland University for tomorrow at home. Though CUC will be playing at home, they will bat as the visiting team.

Series History: CUC owns a 21-3 record against Lakeland since the 2007 season. CUC is 13-1 at home during that span. The Cougars have won the last 12 games in the series including both games last season by scores of 16-1 and 5-2. CUC has outscored the Muskies 237-85 during the series
 
About the Cougars:  The unanimous number one ranked Concordia Chicago Baseball team comes into the midweek matchup with Lakeland 21-1 overall and 10-0 in the NACC. They have won a nation leading 21 games in a row coming into the day. Last time out CUC used seven homers to sweep the series with CUW on Saturday afternoon. CUC now has hit 29 homers on the season which ranks fifth in the country. Brody Mariotti leads the team with nine on the season after hitting two more opposite field homers against the Falcons. Jose Mercado comes into the day ranking first in the country in runs scored per game and sixth in stolen bases. The Cougar pitching staff has been equally as impressive on the season. The team comes in with a 2.54 ERA on the season which ranks first in the NACC and fifth in the country. Kyle Strepek and Cole Carman rank among the top fifty in the country in ERA among qualifying pitchers.  
 
About the Muskies: The Lakeland University Muskies come into the day 4-17 overall and 0-8 in the NACC. Most recently they swept Wisconsin Lutheran by scores of 7-2 and 3-1. Travis Regalado leads the team with a .320 batting average on the season. He has a team high 24 hits on the season to go along with 14 runs driven in. Connor Hilburn and Nath Hemmerling are not far behind with .304 averages. As a team Lakeland is hitting .220. On the hill Nathan Hemmerling leads the team with a 2.59 ERA in 31.1 innings of work. HE has a 2-3 record overall to go along with 42 strikeouts on the season. As a group Lakeland has a team ERA of 6.99 and opponents are hitting .315 against them.
