MONTGOMERY, Ill. -- The Concordia-Chicago men's lacrosse team dropped to 1-3 on the season and lost their conference opener, by a heavy 23-2 score against Aurora University this evening.

- The Spartans out shot the Cougars 57-19.
- CUC's two goals came from Hunter Combe and Jordan Loeffler.Â
- Boston Dumas won 10 of 25 face offs this evening. Tonight's game was the first time this season the freshman has been out beaten from the face off circle.Â
- Jack Liskey finished with 19 saves.
Aurora took off on a six-goal tear to open up tonight's contest against the Cougars. From there, the flood gates opened as the Spartans tacked on another eight goals in the second quarter.
Heading into the second half, CUC trailed 14-0. Finally, at the 6:40 mark Loeffler drove through the lane and scored unassisted to put the Cougars on the scoreboard. Down the stretch, Combe drilled the ball past Aurora's keeper to tally his own goal for the night.
The Spartans put up three more goals before the conclusion of the contest to ultimately defeat Concordia-Chicago 23-2.Â
The Cougars return to action this weekend to take on Cornell at 1 p.m. inside Concordia Stadium.Â
