River Forest, Ill.- Concordia University Chicago (4-3) faced off against Wisconsin Lutheran College (1-6) in the final home game of the year for the Cougars. In the first half neither team could get into a roll offensively, and CUC would trail 7-0 at half. One quarter later scoring would pick up and going into the final frame it was 14-7. Concordia-Chicago would tie it up in the fourth, but could not finish the game off and lose 17-14.

Concordia-Chicago and Wisconsin Lutheran would open up stuck in a rut offensively. Neither team registered any points through one quarter of play. The first scoring would come from the away team in the second quarter. A CUC fumble led to a quick Spartan drive that lasted six plays and 25 yards. Nick Yockey would rush in from one yard and score the first and only points of the half.
Opening up the second half, the Cougars forced an early punt. When they received the ball,
Tylor Martens did his best to spark the offense with a ten-yard rush on a crucial third down. Another crucial run would be made by
Lance Moise. On fourth down Moise rushed for 31 yards to tie the game at 7-7. Offense seemed to be sparked after this touchdown, and WLC answered back right away to take back a 14-7 lead.
Moving on to the fourth quarter the score still stood at 14-7. CUC milked the clock on a 13 play, 76-yard drive that took up a span six minutes. Capping off the drive, Martens punched in a one- yard run and tied the game back up at 14-14. Martens would continue to dominate on the next drive. A drive that followed a CUC defensive stop was started off with a 17-yard rush.
Corey Dooley also joined the mix with a 13-yard reception to keep the chains moving. Unfortunately, the drive would be stopped by an interception on the three-yard line.
Two dropped interceptions by the Concordia-Chicago defense kept the Spartans drive alive. With 2:44 left in the fourth quarter WLC was forced to punt. They put CUC in terrible field position by pinning them at the one yard-line. The Cougars would also be forced to punt, giving WLC great field position. With 36 seconds remaining, the Spartans went on to nail a 43 yard field goal and take a late 17-14 lead. This would end the CUC chances, and they would lose 17-14.
Concordia-Chicago will look ahead to Rockford University on Saturday, November 9
th. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
