A Look at Lakeland... Predicted to finish 12th overall in the NACC, the Muskies are 3-8-1 through the first half of their season. Similar to the Cougars, Lakeland recorded a 2-1 victory over Northland College and also collected wins against Moody Bible and Ripon. With an 0-3 record in conference play, the Muskies too are looking for their first conference win this weekend. CUC has defeated Lakeland in its last two meetings, with the Muskies' last win coming in 2016 in a 2-1 fashion.Â
No Shot... Senior keeperÂ
Jose Retana has tallied 60 saves through the first half of his senior season. With his total saves, he ranks first among the NACC's goalkeepers while boasting a .789 save percentage. Between CUC's four netminders, they rank 12th in the nation averaging 8.44 saves per game.
Medina Means Business... Already matching his total goals from last season, juniorÂ
Gerardo Medina is off to a hot start and leads the Cougars with three goals this season and one assist. An integral piece in CUC's two- win week against Andrews and Northland, Medina tabbed two goals including the overtime golden goal against the Cardinals. Medina also netted the second goal to solidify CUC's 2-0 win over Northland College putting him in the running for the NACC's Offensive Player of the Week award.Â
