Last Time Out... CUC last went to battle on Wednesday afternoon against Division Street Rivals, Dominican University. With the Stars atop the NACC leader board, the Cougars had a tall order but managed to hold its foe to just one goal in the first half. In the final 15 minutes of play though, Dominican heated up and went on to score three more times to walk away with the 4-0 win.
Pushing One... With one spot remaining in the 2019 NACC playoff bracket, the Concordia-Chicago Cougars currently sit comfortably in that sixth-place spot. However, CUC will need to earn at least one point through either a draw or a win tomorrow to clinch its first ever berth into the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tournament. With Edgewood and MSOE left on the Cougars' regular season schedule, there are still several chances to earn the final playoff spot.
Eagle Eye... Edgewood's Eagles are currently 3-6 in NACC play, with a 6-11-1 overall record. Sitting just one spot behind the Cougars in the standings, the Eagles will rely heavily on senior Sean Sertees to get their offense going. Sertees leads his squad with 24 points off 11 goals and two assists, while sophomore Brian Root backs up his production with eight goals to date. Edgewood averages 2.11 goals allowed per game, as a team, while netminder Brendon Martin boasts a .753 save percentage.
