CUC Looks for Sixth Straight Against Division Street Rival

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Among a five-game win streak, the longest in program history, the Concordia-Chicago Cougars will look to push that number to six as they head across the street to Dominican University tomorrow afternoon.

Kick off is slated for a 12:30 p.m. start time on the Stars' turf. Live coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage Last Time Out... Snagging two wins last week the Cougars ousted Illinois Tech 2-1 on Wednesday, for the first time in program history, before downing WLC 4-2 on Saturday. Joel Diaz had two goals in the win over the Warriors, while Michael Bogart tallied the game-winning goal over the Scarlet Hawks. With the two wins, CUC is currently 8-6 overall (5-3 NACC) and fifth in the NACC standings.

Playoff Implications... Looking to close out the season on a high note, CUC is currently in control of their own destiny. With a win against Dominican tomorrow, and an Edgewood loss, the Cougars would clinch a berth into the NACC playoffs. If CUC drops tomorrow's contest, they could still clinch early with a point on Saturday, when the Cougars travel to Madision, Wis. to take on Edgewood College. With a playoff berth, it would mark the first time CUC men's soccer would participate in a playoff tournament since joining the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in 2006.

Shooting Stars... With a 12-2-2 overall record, the Dominican Stars sit atop the NACC ranks and have already clinched a spot in the 2019 playoffs. Standing at 8-0 in the conference, the Stars have reigning NACC Athlete of the Week, Jonathan Hernandez, on their side, who has 27 points off 11 goals and five assists this season. Isaac Perez is also an offensive threat for the Stars, as he leads his team and the conference with 14 goals and 34 points. The Stars average a mighty 2.94 goals per game while holding opponents to just a 0.63 average.
