On the road in Milwaukee for their final away match, the Cougars (9-16, 3-6 NACC) took on Wisconsin Lutheran College (13-9, 7-1 NACC). Concordia looked to turn things around following a loss to Edgewood College, but were unable to secure the five-set match against the Warriors.
In set one, the teams seemed to be evenly matched, with neither team going on long runs, or pulling away too quickly, but the Cougars ended up winning that first battle. The Cougars had their match high for kills in a set with 12, with the majority coming from Julia Spitelli, Alyssa Henline and Shannon Stamp, who had the set-ending point, with a 25-22 final.
For the second set, the Warriors set off a spark and went on a 9-0 run to take a close game to a score of 17-9. Unable to come back from the deficit, Concordia dropped the second set with a score of 25-17 which tied the match at one set a piece.Â
The tables turned, once again, this time in favor of the Cougars. Jaylynn Johnson and Spitelli led the team in kills this set. Julia Beers continued to lead the team in digs with a total of 24 in the match. Concordia secured set three with a block from Spitelli, with a final of 25-18.

In the fourth set, the Warriors remained consistent and capitalized off of Concordia errors to win the set, 25-17; with a match score of 2-2, the match headed into the fifth set.
The fifth set featured a couple early runs for the Warriors and a 4-point lead. The three big Cougar hitters, Johnson, Spitelli, and Stamp all contributed to the final set with kills, but Wisconsin Lutheran fought back just as hard. For the Warriors, 11 of their 15 points in the last set came from kills, which gave them the set 15-12, and the match victory over the Cougars.
The next match for the Cougars, as a part of their final three home matches, is set for Tuesday, October 22nd against Illinois Tech (6-15, 2-6 NACC).
