May 20, 2017 - A second day of rain in Whitewater, WI was too much to play around this time. As a result, the Concordia-Chicago Cougars' third game in the Midwest Regional will have to wait until Sunday morning at 11:00. There will be much at stake for the Cougars and the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, with the winner gaining passage to the championship round of the regional and then needing one win on Monday to advance to the Division III World Series in Appleton, WI.

The Cougars (31-11) made it two in a row at Prucha Field on Friday night with a 7-2 win over Adrian College.
Keaton Conner (6-3) and
Mike Formella (save #6)) combined to keep a hard-hitting team in check. On the offensive side,
Brent Spohr drove in three runs - two as part of a decisive four-run sixth inning. The top three in the CUC order -
Bryan VanDuser, Joe Silva and Spohr - combined for eight hits on the night.
The UW-LaCrosse Eagles advanced to the semifinal game by defeating their conference rival, the UW-Whitewater Warhawks, by a 5-2 score on Friday behind a strong effort from Mason McMahon. The Eagles' offense hits .267 as a team, averaging about five runs per game. They are led by second baseman Nate Heili, who is hitting .336 and is the team's top base stealer with 18 in 21 tries. Outfielder Carter Hoffman has come on strong after missing the first half of the season to injury. He has hit .400 with an on-base of .455.
