April 18, 2017 - The Concordia-Chicago men's lacrosse team suffered their worst loss in their two seasons of play, losing 36-1 to Aurora University at Concordia Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The Spartans came in with a 14-1 overall record and as leaders of the Midwest Lacrosse Conference with a 6-0 record, They got to work quickly as Bailey Smith scored the first of his nine goals just 1:07 into the game. Aurora extended the lead to 4-0 over the next few minutes Aurora outshot CUC 73-6 for the day
Corey Sheehan took the ball on a clear attempt and wound up motoring all the way down the field to score from about five yards out for CUC's lone goal.Â
Aurora scored five more times in the first quarter for a 9-1 lead and then outscored CUC 15-0 in the second for a 24-1 advantage. The visitors continued their assault with six goals in both the third and fourth quarters. Cougars' goalie

The Cougars will host Beloit College on Sunday in their home finale. Faceoff time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
