River Forest, Ill. - Coming in on a two game winning streak to close out their season high five game road swing, the Concordia University Chicago Men's Soccer team took to the pitch in River Forest looking to extend their streak to three against the Marian University Sabers. Unfortunately for CUC the NACC leader in goals Alonso Fragoso would be the difference, netting a hat trick to lead Marian to the 4-1 lead over CUC.

Marian got off to a quick start just 78 seconds into the match. A tough call on a play in the Cougars box awarded Marian with a penalty kick that Fragoso was able to convert inside the right post. The Cougars then showed their fight just over three minutes later when a corner kick by Joel Krenz found the head of Ricardo Aragon then the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season while making it a 1-1 game early. The rest of the half was intense between the two sides but neither were able to break the tie.

The second half brought the same intensity out of the locker room. Aragon came within inches of giving CUC the lead in the 59^th minute. Marian countered then just two minutes later when Israel Tovar tapped it in for the 2-1 Marian lead.

CUC continued to press forward with Aragon hitting the crossbar in the 73^rd minute. CUC was unable to formulate a tying attack, while Fragoso netted the insurance goals late to spoil the end of Homecoming for CUC 4-1.

The Cougars (2-7; 2-2 NACC) will return to action on Tuesday night when they take on Illinois Tech from the South side of Chicago. Opening kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
