April 16, 2016 - With the end nearing for the Concordia University Chicago men's lacrosse team's inaugural season, the Cougars continued to show much improvement. Today was arguably the best weather for lacrosse all season. The Cougars came out hot early, jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first quarter. MOSE weathered the storm however, and methodically worked the ball around to go on a 12-0 run to answer the Cougars.
The Cougar's leading scorer
Cal Crawford (Stillwater, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) netted two of CUC's three goals. The first came just under a minute and a half after the opening faceoff when Crawford ripped a shot past the MSOE goalie for the early 1-0 lead. CUC scored two more goals in the first quarter. The second goal of the game came from
Jordan Loeffler (Orland Hills. IL/Sandburg) who took a well-timed pass from
Timothy Moses (Parma, OH/Lutheran West) and fired it to the back of the cage. The final Cougar goal came with 4:02 remaining in the first quarter. It would be a man-up situation for CUC that Crawford finished to make it 3-0 Cougars. MSOE tallied their lone goal in the first quarter with 14 seconds remaining.
Noah Bachofen (Franklin, WI/H.S.) was a big key as well in the early Cougar lead. He would make 12 saves in the quarter, and 28 for the match.
MSOE took a long methodical approach to their comeback. They scored five second-quarter goals to make it 6-3 Raiders at the half. They made all the necessary plays to eventually pull away to the final 12-3 score.
The Cougars will close out their first-ever season a week from today when they take on Concordia University Wisconsin from Mequon, WI.  Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m
