April 23, 2016 -Â A difficult but learning season, the initial one for Concordia-Chicago men's lacrosse, came to a close in Mequon, WI this afternoon as the Cougars lost 24-1 to Concordia University Wisconsin. The Cougars finished with a record of 1-13, 0-6 in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference.
Cal Crawford (Stillwater, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall)Â led CUC in scoring this first year with 23 goals and six assists for 29 points. He scored the Cougars' lone goal with five minutes remaining to avert the shutout.Â
Jordan Loeffler (Orland Hills, IL/Sandburg)Â was second on the team with 11 goals and three assists for 14 points.
Noah Bachofen (Franklin, WI/H.S.)Â was in goal for every minute of every game this season. The freshman was a courageous and steady leader of the team, standing up to a regular barrage of shots. Today's game was no exception as the Falcons fired a total of 78 shots at the Cougars. Bachofen made 21 saves, giving him a total of 275 for the year.
"I'm very happy with the way our guys were dedicated to learning and improving from day one of practice to today," said CUC head coachÂ
Drew Stevenson. "We'll add some players to this now experienced core of players we have and look forward to a good 2017 season. I know that we can't wait to get started."
