Box Score Oct. 27, 2014 – The Concordia-Chicago men's soccer hosted Lawrence University in a non-conference game this afternoon. The first-ever meeting between the two teams saw the Vikings take a 3-1 victory back to Appleton, WI.Â
The Cougars and the Vikings played a back and forth first half at a pedestrian pace. The midfield-heavy half included a few chances for each team. However, it was Lawrence that won a penalty with just 39 seconds remaining in the first half and converted to take a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the Cougars came out and pushed the ball up the field. But, in the 59
th minute, a pass was played through the defense for a 2-0 lead. After a red card on CUC, the Vikings scored in the 65
th minute by finishing a shot that rebounded off the post to go up 3-0.
The Cougars battled tough and got on the board when
DeAndre McLaurin (Joliet, IL/Joliet West) finished for his team leading ninth goal of the year. The assist was from
Brendan Mullane (Park Ridge, IL/Maine South). The 10-man Cougar squad pressured and created several more chances, but was unable to get the equalizing goals.
The Cougars' (6-9-2)Â next game will be the season finale on Wednesday in River Forest at 3:00 against Rockford University.
