Box Score Oct. 18, 2014 – The Concordia Cougar men's soccer team traveled to Wiscsonsin Lutheran College on Saturday afternoon. It was a cold and windy day for Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference soccer action in Wisconsin as the Warriors toppled the Cougars by a 6-1 margin.
It was a closely contested first half as the Cougars played stout defense despite being outshot 11-3. The Warriors, however, snuck a goal in just before half time to take a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the Cougars came out firing and
Fabian Robles (Cicero, IL/St. Joseph) scored on a scrum in the box just three minutes into the second frame to level the game at 1-1.
CUC had run of the game over the next 10 minutes and almost took the lead. Unfortunately, the breaks went the other way and in the 55
th minute, WLC took the lead. As Concordia-Chicago played a more aggressive shape to push for the tying goal, Wisconsin Lutheran scored four more times to make the final margin 6-1.
The Cougars will host NACC leader Dominican University on Tuesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00.
