Koehler Snares Second Conference Honor

Box Score Sept. 18, 2012 – Three weeks into the 2012 football season, Concordia University Chicago senior quarterback Jake Koehler (Belvidere, IL/Rockford Lutheran) earned his second Football (Offense) Student-Athlete of the Week (Sept. 10-16) from the Northern Athletics Conference.

Koehler led the Cougars to their third consecutive win Sept. 15, a wild 63-47 victory over Hope College. He led the offense to a school-record 650 yards of offense including 386 yards passing on 21 of 29 attempts. Koehler threw for five touchdowns, tying a school record, and scored a touchdown on a two-yard run as part of his 16 carries for 61 yards.

“As Jake goes, so goes our offense,” said Lonnie Pries, Concordia-Chicago head football coach. “He came out a little amped up but, once he settled in, he did a great job in leading our offense with both his passing and running.”
